Preschool Gallery Hour

Hello Everyone,
My name is Rosa and I am one of this year's TACs. It's a quiet Sunday at the CJM and I thought it would be simply a splendid time to write my first blog post! The question became what to write about? There are so many interesting things coming up (tours and  talks and teen nights, oh my!) But while I am excited for these upcoming, I decided to talk about something I already have experience with: Preschool Gallery Hour

PGH happens every second Sunday of the month from 10 am to 11:30 am when the Museum is open only for preschoolers and their families. I have worked every one of them since I started working here. Let me start by saying it is so much fun. The museum floods with a sea of the cutest children and we put on all kinds of age-appropriate activities. We have art making and interactive gallery tours. We also read books aloud and have special musical and acrobatic guest performers (anyone from circus troupes to family music bands to beat boxers have dazzled us with their talents). Recently, Curious George himself has been making appearances and the kids really love him (a note: as someone who has often been inside the monkey suit, it is hot and sweaty and bulky and some of the most fun I have ever had at work).

I have had a blast at every single Preschool Gallery Hours. Whether I'm holding signs (yep that's me above) or reading books or cutting paper. Hopefully, I will see all you readers with kids at the next one!
