Chanelle's Apprenticeship
Hey it's TAC Chanelle just checking in to tell you about this fabulous apprenticeship that I am doing. During the second half of our wonderful world of being a TAC intern, we get to participate in apprenticeships that show us the many different jobs of being an actual staff at a museum. I am being apprenticing with Cecile, who is now helping me learn about the different experiences and information in relations to her position as the volunteer and tour coordinator. So far, we have been on a few tours and did a substantial amount of office work, which balances out great. During the tours I would help facilitate and assist with smooth transitioning. I like doing that because it is, slowly but surely, helping me conquer my fear of shyness when I talk in front of large groups of people.

Up til this time I have really enjoyed the different people who incorporate themselves with the Contemporary Jewish Museum and the volunteer experiences that are offered. I was really in awe about the fact that these people come from all walks of life from around the world and enjoy the same thing (which is helping out in the museum). Whether it is being in a monkey suit or just working coat check, they usually come back and volunteer more
Most of all I've enjoyed just being a coworker and and a mentee. I absolutely love checking in and getting to meet know some of the other CJM Staff. Overall I am having a great time being a TAC/mentee and I can't wait until next week when Cecile and I will meet again.
